THE HEALERS
feat.
Thomas Buck-Nasty Vocals

"The voice. The charisma. The mesmerizing stage presence..."

The powerful singer from the East Coast was influenced at an early age by his surroundings in the City of Brotherly Love.

Performing his first solo in front of his church congregation at age six, Thomas joined choir soon after, gaining a love for the gospel music of Rev. James Cleveland and Edwin and Walter Hawkins. But like so many before him, he was also heavily influenced by the soulfulness of James Brown and Wilson Pickett, and the bluesiness of John Lee Hooker, B.B. King and Buddy Guy.

Fronting local and traveling bands in the 1970s he opened for the likes of Earth, Wind & Fire, Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder and the Temptations.
He made his first album for RCA, Thomas Buck-Nasty's Best-o-Funk, which he wrote and produced.
He went on to collaborate on productions of albums for Evelyn "Champagne" King, and others.

But disco album production wasn't enough for Thomas. He felt a yearning to sing what he really felt and, mixing blues with R&B, he began an ongoing affair with the road, performing on stages around the world, opening for James Cotton,
Colin James, Savoy Brown, Spencer Davis, Eric Burdon, Big Sug and many others.

As anyone who has experienced his intense live show will attest, Thomas Buck-Nasty has an energizing presence on stage.
He possesses an in-your-face ability to tear down the house, taking no prisoners in his quest to deliver his searing mixture of gospel, blues, soul, funk and jazz.

For over 15 years, Thomas has toured the world with the legendary 50's group "The Coasters". The Coasters are widely regarded as the pre-eminent vocal group of the original rock ´n´ roll era. There never was, nor will there ever be, another group quite like the Coasters In-between appearances with The Coasters, Tomas has been appearing regularly with "The Healers!", New York City's most high-energy Blues band.

The Healers were formed when Thomas auditioned for the band in June, 1999 (Needless to say, he was immediately hired). At that point, the group was complete. The band made their debut performance at the legendary Bitter End in New York City in August that same year. The show was such a success that it led to a regular gig at the club, as well as frequent appearances at the 55 Bar. They recently performed on WUSB radio's "Blues With A Feeling," hosted by Sam Taylor.
The quintet has built up loyal and fanatic following over the past year (as evidenced by the rave guest book entries on their website, www.healersnyc.com
that has only continued to grow.

Exactly what makes The Healers such crowd pleasers? The exuberant yet skillful instrumentals, the repertoire that includes not only traditional blues but an injection of rhythm-and-blues (covers of classic R&B songs such as "Proud Mary" "Caldonia," and "Georgia"), as well as elements of funk and soul – and, of course, charismatic lead singer Thomas Buck-Nasty's searing gospel-infused vocals and intense stage presence. Says bassist David Geist, "He doesn't allow the audience to not like him!"

Do yourself a righteous favor and let Thomas Buck-Nasty hit you one time, hit you two times, hit you three times with a blast of the real thing!
